長年巡迴亞洲演講、世界華文媒體專欄作家及人間福報專欄作家戴維思，12月30日上午由美洲時報社長斯碧瑤陪同前往佛光山如來寺參訪，由佛光山南美洲教區總住持妙遠法師、國際佛光會巴西協會副會長李樹立等人歡迎接待。
受到美洲時報報社邀請，在巴西主講超強記憶力的訓練方法的戴維思，將學習法中的記憶，整理、訓練及歸納，轉換成「圖像」、「諧音」及「聯想」，堅持打破思惟習慣來學習，可以提高工作效率、背誦經典及幫助別人。戴維思現場於白板示範5個數字為一組，12組共60個數字，於短時間內背誦出正確位置。
妙遠法師邀請戴維思在巴西期間有機會再回如來寺，分享記憶力的訓練。同時邀請其一對龍鳳胎兒女，一同參加跨年朝山的活動。

Of the many celestial phenomenons, there is probably none as exciting as when you see your first asteroid on the move in the heavens. To call asteroids the “rock stars” of astronomy is both a bad joke and an accurate depiction of how astronomy fans view them.
